PT Surface Treatments offer a range of metal finishing services:

Anodising is an electrolytic conversion coating that increases the hardness and corrosion of raw aluminium. It is achieved by suspending the aluminium in a mixture of water and sulphuric acid solution (electrolyte). PT Surface Treatments offer two types of anodising; sulphuric and hard anodising. Sulphuric anodising is most suitable for decorative pieces, as it can be dyed a range of different colours. Hard anodising is most suited for more hard wearing needs as it offers better corrosion and wear resistance.

Note: areas of components that are requiring electrical conductivity may need masking as anodising has an insulating effect of aluminium.

Chemical brightening is a non-mechanical polishing process. The process improves the appearance giving a uniformed bright finish. This is not suitable for 2000 series aluminium.

Sealing is essential when treating surfaces. We offer two types of sealing processes; hot water sealing and nickle acetate (cold seal) Hot water sealing is a basic seal process for none-architectural decorative work. Cold seal offers a far superior seal for more aggressive environments.

Media blasting is a process which removes rust and old paintwork from metal surfaces. Water and media are applied with compressed air are used to restore metal and prepare it for powder coating or create a matt defused surface prior to anodising.
